    Hearst Tv has established a fellowship to honor Suzanne Grethen, a Hearst Tv government who led the corporate’s promotion and advertising efforts for greater than a dozen years as vp and senior vp. Grethen retired in December 2024.

    The Suzanne Grethen Artistic Companies Affiliate Producer Fellowship has been designed to help the recruitment and nurturing of younger native TV advertising expertise and will likely be overseen by Grethen’s successor, Russ Nelligan, the corporate’s vp of selling.

    “Nobody in our group has ever been extra invested within the progress and growth of our artistic professionals than Suzanne,” stated Michael J. Hayes, Hearst Tv president.  “This fellowship underscores the significance of her decades-long dedication to our individuals, our product, and our mission in native broadcasting.”

    “Growing early-career expertise is a steady course of,” stated Katherine Barnett, Hearst Tv senior vp, human sources.  “Constructing on Suzanne’s preliminary work on this space, we’re extremely inspired concerning the prospects for fulfillment with this new fellowship.”

    “Having labored intently with Suzanne for years, I witnessed her deep dedication to mentoring,” Nelligan stated.  “On the station stage, I had the privilege of serving to information a number of the very first members in this system she launched.  This fellowship isn’t solely a significant tribute to her legacy, but in addition important to growing the subsequent era of native tv entrepreneurs.”

    Grethen launched the Artistic Companies Affiliate Producer Improvement Program in 2022. Hearst stated she was impressed by the corporate’s different fellowship initiatives just like the Fred Younger Producing Fellowship, designed to develop expertise in information manufacturing and honoring the corporate’s retired senior vp of reports and the Marty Faubell Broadcast Expertise Fellowship, designed to recruit rising minds in broadcast TV engineering and IT and honoring its retired vp of engineering.

    Grethen’s preliminary 12-month curriculum achieved a 93% fellowship completion charge with 80% of its members changing to full-time roles throughout Hearst’s stations. To this point, this system has positioned 15 fellows throughout the group, a few of whom had been alumni of the Emma Bowen or Emerson Coleman packages; at any given level, the corporate could have as much as 5 Grethen fellows positioned throughout its stations.
