Jon Youngwood, international co-chair of Simpson Thacher’s litigation division, mentioned the Fifth Circuit’s ruling that struck down a state legislation requiring the Ten Commandments to be displayed in public lecture rooms “rests upon the knowledge of the First Modification and the protections it affords concerning the separation of church and state.”
