Anthropic, the San Francisco-based AI developer behind the Claude chatbot, has agreed to pay $1.5 billion to settle a class-action lawsuit introduced by authors who alleged their works have been used with out authorization to coach the corporate’s AI fashions, based on filings submitted Friday in San Francisco federal court docket.
