OpenAI is experiencing a widespread outage affecting two programs, APIs and ChatGPT. The outage has been ongoing for not less than a half an hour as of publication date.
ChatGPT API Jobs Caught Outage
The primary difficulty is that batch API jobs get caught within the finalization state. There are twelve elements of APIs which can be monitored for uptime and it’s the Batch half that’s experiencing “degraded” efficiency. The difficulty has been ongoing since 3:54 PM.

ChatGPT Uploads Outage
The opposite error pertains to ChatGPT file uploads are failing. That is described as a partial outage.
OpenAI’s official rationalization:
“File uploads to ChatGPT conversations are failing for some customers, giving an error message indicating the file has expired.

This difficulty has been ongoing since 3:53 PM.
