Earlier than she tied the knot with politician Raghav Chadha, Parineeti Chopra gave followers a uncommon glimpse into the house she designed for herself—a peaceable, sea-facing flat in Mumbai.

“I feel the definition of house solely actually began for me after I purchased my first one,” Parineeti shared with Architectural Digest. “It’s about making it your personal—having your favorite spots, feeling calm, and simply being your self.”

And calm is precisely what this house breathes. With an open balcony that gazes to the Arabian Sea, it’s no shock that Parineeti would usually start her days groggy-eyed, wandering from her bed room straight into the daylight and salty breeze.

Designed in collaboration with celebrated inside designer and architect Shabnam Gupta, the home blends understated class with pops of quirk. “We went for a easy home,” Parineeti says, “however added bursts of color right here and there—bursts of me, truly.”

From the beginning, Parineeti wished the house to replicate her identification. Childhood recollections, her love for books, and small, joyful particulars have been all translated into the corners of her house. “I advised Shabnam lots about myself—my childhood, my habits, and she or he actually introduced all of that into the house.”

One wall specifically holds a particular place in her coronary heart: her storybook wall. “My earliest reminiscence is of my mum giving me an Enid Blyton ebook,” she recollects. “I’ve truly minimize up the covers and made a wall out of them. It’s like a tribute to all of the tales that formed me.”

Essentially the most enjoyable house in her house is her den—a spot the place she reads, watches films, and switches off. On the centre of it’s a hand-painted Monopoly board on her espresso desk. It’s playful, daring, and sudden—similar to her.

In some ways, it’s a snapshot of who she was simply earlier than she stepped into the subsequent chapter of her life.
