Actor Willem Dafoe is stepping into the whisky enterprise with Laphroaig.
The Suntory-owned Scotch whisky partnered with Dafoe to create a limited-edition product, set for launch subsequent 12 months. To unveil the collaboration, the actor stars in a black and white quick movie during which he tries to seize the style of the famously smoky single malt.
Dafoe likens his search to outline Laphroaig’s style to a childhood quest to grasp astronauts who journey to house. It’s a poetic meditation on style and reminiscence.
He then reads different descriptions of the whisky from opinionated followers of the model.
Legendary director Tim Pope, well-known for his work on music movies for the likes of David Bowie, Iggy Pop, and The Remedy, directed the cinematic advert.
That is the newest installment of Laphroaig’s world “Unphorettable” marketing campaign, which launched final 12 months. It’ll run throughout digital, paid social, out-of-home, print, PR, and in-store promotions.
Laphroaig additionally enlisted lauded mixologist Meaghan Dorman to create a bespoke cocktail, named “The Different Island,” in honor of the partnership.
